      The people behind the cheat.

      We just really
      like food.

      We're a German and a Brazilian who somehow ended up opening a restaurant together in Ericeira.

      For me, it started with all the food I saw on TV growing up — stuff I couldn't really get or couldn't afford. So I started figuring out how to make it myself.

      Later, travelling took that obsession a little further. I picked up ingredients, flavors and ways of cooking from different places along the way — and a lot of them still find their way into what we make today.

      And while I was obsessing over the food, my partner — an architect — was turning an almost empty space and a very small budget into CHEAT DAY. A lot of what you see around you was designed, built, found or figured out by us along the way.

      CHEAT DAY is basically all of that in one place. We cook the food we're excited about, take inspiration from everywhere and don't worry too much about where it's supposed to belong.
